What are Notion credits?

Notion credits are an add-on for Business and Enterprise plans. They’re shared across your workspace and let you run Custom Agents, Workers, and additional Notion AI usage beyond the usage allowance.

If you manage billing in-product, admins can purchase credits and track usage in the Notion credits dashboard. If you work with an account team, they can help you estimate credit needs and review credit options.

There are two types of Notion credits you can buy: monthly and annual.

The type of credit you can purchase is tied to your core subscription plan. Users on monthly plans can buy monthly credits, users on annual plans can buy annual credits.

Monthly credits are a good fit if your workspace uses a steady amount of credits each month, like Custom Agent workflows with predictable usage. Unused credits reset each month.

Annual credits are a good fit if you want flexibility throughout the year, like usage that ramps up, spikes, or varies between teams and quarters. They’re also useful for experimentation and time-bound projects. Because you can use annual credits anytime during your subscription year, they cost more and work well as a flexible pool alongside monthly credits. If you have monthly credits, they’ll be used before your annual credits.

You can view your billing date, as well as your credit reset and expiration dates, in the Notion credits dashboard.

Monthly credits cost $10 per 1,000 credits per month and you can adjust the amount each month based on your needs.

• Purchase anytime. If you run out of credits before the next reset, you can buy more mid-cycle to keep features running. You’ll get the full amount right away, and credits aren’t prorated.

• Credits reset monthly. Your credits reset to the amount you purchased. Unused credits don’t carry over to the next month.

• Match your credits to your monthly usage. Admins can raise or lower the amount for each billing cycle. Increases are available immediately, while decreases take effect at the start of the next month.

• Credits are billed monthly. Monthly credits are billed alongside your monthly Notion subscription.

Annual credits cost $13 per 1,000 credits. Admins on annual Business or Enterprise plans can buy annual Notion credits.

• Purchase anytime. Buy annual credits at any time and use the full amount right away. If you need more later, you can add credits without waiting for renewal.

• Adjust as your needs change. Increase your annual credit amount anytime, with new credits available immediately. You can schedule a decrease or cancellation for your next renewal.

• Use your existing credits first. If your workspace has multiple types of credits, Notion uses free credits first, followed by monthly credits and then annual credits.

• Use credits flexibly throughout your subscription year. Annual credits remain available until your subscription renews, giving you more flexibility to accommodate changes in usage. Unused credits expire at renewal and don’t carry over, even if you bought them partway through the year.
